Petra, Jordan

A view of the Treasury through the narrow valley

Halfway through the climb to the Monestary

This is a 7,000 seat theater with a goat in the stands.
The Treasury with a school trip getting photos taken

Cameron and I left Dahab and headed to Jordan to explore Petra (an ancient city carved from the sides of mountians). We decided to go through Israel and basically took buses or taxi's to each border and walked through. After a 2 hour drive from Jordan's border we made it to Wadi Musa, had a kebab and went to bed ready for an early morning. Spent the next day in Petra and it was incredible. These buildings and tombs carved right out of the mountian was amazing and almost surreal. We took a 45 min. climb up to the Monestary which was at about 3300 ft. and had a view over the mountians that was amazing.
After attempts to get to the Dead Sea failed we returned to Dahab to retrieve the rest of our belongings, staying one night in our old house and then off to Cairo.

Egypt

Only 2 more days in Egypt left... been to Jordan, back to Dahab, to Cairo and now we are in Luxor but are leaving tonight for Cairo again. Done so much with little time to tell now but will write properly once I arrive in Scotland with loads of Pictures as well. Petra in Jordan was amazing, been to the museum in Cairo, spent yesterday on a felucca (old school sailboat) on the Nile River and went on a hot air balloon ride at sunrise this morning over the Valley of the Kings and the Nile... It was awesome. Taking the night train back to Cairo tonight and will be heading to the pyramids tomorrow. It has been great but a whirlwind and will be good to un-wind back in the real world. xoxo

Just a quick note... I have been terrible at keeping in touch lately but haven't had a day off since Kat and Anna left at the beginning of Nov. and we have been super busy at the dive shop. My last day of work is the 26th and we are planning on leaving for Petra on the 27th!!! Then to Luxor and Cairo... Can't wait for a vacation. Jess took a hot air balloon ride over the Nile at sunrise and Cam and I are keen to try... As of now I will be in Scotland until just after New Year and hopefully by then will have more concrete future plans. If we head to Mexico we may pop by home for a few days but you never know. Miss everyone and Happy Thanksgiving... I ate Chinese food. xoxo

Love you mom

If anyone else (other than my mother) reading this blog is sick of seeing '2 days in the desert' here is a new yet brief entry. Kat and Anna have come and gone and we had a great time. Jessi arrived as well but is till here. We all spent a few days diving along with a few good nights in the pub with pictures to follow soon... Jess will be here for another week before meeting her boyfriend in Cairo. We are all resting now a bit but I was sad to say goodbye but happy to have Jessi still here. Unfortunately I am back to work today after having 7 days off although Jess and I went for a dive at lunch so I could introduce her to our seahorse and now we are off to dinner.
I promise (MOM!) when Jess is gone I will spend some time to update you on everything and post some pics! xo

2 Days in the Desert

Just got back from spending 2 days in the desert with some of Cameron's students. It was amazing and I have pics and will post soon and give more info but on to more pressing news.
After almost a year I will finally be back with Jessi and I can't wait. Im going to pick her up at the airport in Sharm tonight and we will stay in Sharm and eat good food and spend the day by the pool tomorrow until we have to leave for the airport to pick up Kat and Anna!!!!! Then we plan to do 5 days diving and maybe a bbq in the desert but mostly just chilling out. Too excited to sit on the computer any longer... will write soon! xoxoxo
Oh yeah- also had a random visit last night from my friend Uri from Honduras... he lives in Israel and came for a quick 2 day holiday so it was crazy and good to see him here.

Can you see me?

Last week Cam and I climbed up some of the mountains near our house, much higher than we had previously and it was awesome. Beautiful views of Dahab, the Sinai mountains and of the Red Sea. Thought I would share some pictures so you all could see Im still alive...Like my hockey jersey???

All here has been good. I've had a few more days off which have been nice and we have been trying venture out from Dahab as well. We also spent a day in Sharm at the water park and of course Cameron convinced to me to go down every slide and I screamed the whole way.
Nothing big or exciting has been happening around here except we are slowly slowly getting ready for the girls to come out and we only have 2 weeks! I wish you all lived closer so you could come and ck out Egypt before we leave but a plan of coming back to the Caribbean is in the works and I expect to be annoyed at all my visitors!!!
The weather temperature is starting to cool and expect to get out my jeans and jacket anytime now. Hope everyone is well... Miss you all.
